EVENTS

The charity's Events Team recruits the services of organisations to provide support to aspirations, understanding of the workplace and to promote and increase employability skills. On average, the Events Team works with around 1,800 organisations in any one academic year.

EMPLOYABILITY DAYS

Key Stage 4/5: Developing understanding for the job application process, transferable skills and allowing young people to meet a range of employers

FOR ME OR NOT FOR ME

Key Stage 3: Linked to subject options, students experience a range of sector-specific workshops. Interactive, challenging and inspiring.

SPECIALIST TALKS

All Key Stages: Interactive talks, with themes designed for specific year groups. How to produce CVs, how to study, for example, are some of the talks delivered.

INTERVIEW DAYS

Key Stages 4/5: Providing young people with the opportunity to be interviewed by a member of the local business community. Designed to meet school timetable needs

SEND SPECIALIST DAYS

Events specifically designed for SEND young people. Helping them to gain confidence for all facets of the application process, to meet employers and experience interviewing in preparation for future experiences

SECTOR VISITS

Supporting teacher curriculum needs, organising sector specific group visits for young people. To support coursework and subject learning

SECTOR PANELS

Presentation based, providing year groups with Q&A type setting. Themes can be workplace cultures, apprenticeships or a multitude of topics

I'm always amazed by the amount of people that come in from businesses and by the preparation that they have done in terms of what they bring with them and of how they talk to students.

The charity is really good when there's somebody cancelling; they'll do their best to kind of step in and either replace them or create their own stand using their team to fill that gap
