MAKE IT WORK
Make it Work is a 2 day programme designed to bring the workplace into the classroom.
Day 1 sees Key Stage 4 or 5 students experience a range of preparatory workshops as well as an afternoon challenge that utilises key employability skills.
Day 2 sees the students placed into groups based on aspirations and/or options, where they work with an employer over the course of the day on a sector specific challenge. Alongside this, each student also receives a one-to-one interview from a member of the local business community.
Bespoke
The framework for the programme allows the charity to build a bespoke offering for your year group. Employer challenges are recruited based on student aspirations. Workshops on Day 1
support Day 2, but can also cover any areas yet to be presented in school.
Gatsby Benchmarks
The programme is designed to meet aspects of the Gatsby Benchmarks. Young people come into contact with employers in a variety of different interactions: Keynote Presentation, workshops, interviewing and in the challenges the employers produce
Employers
The programme can also establish lasting links between schools and employers. Our charity works with new companies to help them create suitable challenges and also brings experienced organisations who have worked on the programme before, bring quality assured engagement activities.
