WORK PLACEMENTS

Our Work Experience team can support your students with traditional week long placements, extended placements, group visits, as well as supporting with preparation before the experience itself takes place.

Our team works closely with Kent employers to ensure placements are suitable and rewarding, and work tirelessly each year to develop new employer links from small/medium to large organisations

Week Long Placements

Our team has developed a strong network of employer supporters who have been incredible in supporting the week long placements of Key Stage 4/5 students. Each young person is uniquely placed with an employer based on a variety of information they send to us: Aspirations, hobbies, location and any health conditions that need to be supported. We recognise each student is different and one placement might not suit another, so focusing on the individual can ensure all needs are suitably accounted for, from mainstream through to Pupil Referral Units

SEND Placements

Our team is also experienced in placing young people from SEND schools. To ensure each individual has the best placement possible for them, a member of the team will visit to personally interview each student. Also, should the school timetables allow, pre-Work Experience workshops can be provided, to better allay any fears that students might have about entering the workplace and better prepare them for the opportunity

3

Workplace Visits

For some students, mainstream placements might not be suitable, so we have successfully created a workplace visit programme for young people to attend in groups, different workplaces for shorter periods of time. These visits can take place over the curse of several weeks and be developed with employers to be more challenge based. By that we will work with the organisation to create set activities that showcase the kind of work that takes place within the sector

Extended Placements

Extended Placements can provide students with a longer experience of the workplace, that might complement current learning or provide a gradual exposure to the workplace. As with mainstream placements, students will meet with their employer pre-placement to ensure a seamless transition from the classroom into the workplace
